Wagering Requirements Explained: Canada's Lowest and No-Wager Offers

What a wagering requirement costs in dollars, which offers at 31 Canadian casinos carry no wagering at all, and the lowest multiples in the field.

Key takeaways

  • A wagering requirement is the total you have to bet before a bonus, or anything won with it, can be withdrawn

  • Of the 343 offers at these 31 casinos that state a wagering value, 47 set it at zero, and only two of those are welcome offers

  • A 40x requirement on a C$100 bonus means C$4,000 of betting, which costs about C$140 on average at an illustrative 96.5% return to player

  • The same multiple can cost twice as much: 40x on the bonus is C$4,000, and 40x on the deposit and bonus together at BC.Game is C$8,800

  • The cheapest welcome terms in the field are 10x the bonus at FortuneJack, 15x the deposit at Cryptocasino and 25x the bonus at 1xCasino

  • Not one of the 51 no-deposit and free-spin offers is fully wager-free; the lightest is 1x on Shuffle's free chips

  • Zero-wagering money exists mainly as cashback, rakeback and tournament prizes, not as a welcome match

A wagering requirement is the total you have to bet before a bonus, or anything you win with it, can leave the account. It is written as a multiple: 35x, 40x, 60x. The multiple on its own tells you very little, because what matters just as much is the figure it is applied to: the bonus alone, your deposit alone, or the two added together.

Here is the direct answer. Across the 635 live offers at the 31 casinos we review for Canadian players, 343 state a wagering value and 47 of those set it at zero.

Only two of them are welcome offers: Cloudbet, whose package unlocks in cash increments, and Jack.com, whose free spins are wager-free but whose deposit still has to be turned over once. Among welcome offers that do carry a multiple, the lowest three are FortuneJack at 10x the bonus, Cryptocasino at 15x the first deposit and 1xCasino at 25x the bonus.

What 40x wagering means in dollars

The most common pairing in the field is a 100% match with a 40x multiple on the bonus. Follow it through on a C$100 deposit.

  1. You deposit C$100 at a casino advertising a 100% match. C$100 of bonus credit arrives.
  2. The terms state 40x wagering, applied to the bonus. That is the most common pairing in this field.
  3. Betting required: C$100 x 40 = C$4,000.
  4. That is 40 times your own deposit, staked before a withdrawal is allowed.
  5. Assume slots at a 96.5% return to player. That figure is an illustrative assumption, not a promise, and it means the house keeps 3.5% of everything staked.
  6. Expected cost of putting C$4,000 through those games: C$140. The credit was worth C$100.

On the average run, a 40x requirement costs more to clear than the bonus pays. The requirement is the price of the offer, and the advertised percentage is not. We priced every welcome offer in the field this way in our guide to the real cost of a welcome bonus.

Twenty of the 27 welcome offers state a multiple. They run from 10x to 66x, and 40x accounts for half of them, so a reader who checks nothing else is most likely looking at C$4,000 of betting per C$100 of bonus.

The base matters as much as the multiple

A multiple is meaningless until you know what it multiplies. Three bases are in use here, and they produce very different bills from the same number.

  • The bonus alone: 16 of the 27 welcome offers. A 40x multiple on a C$100 bonus is C$4,000.
  • The deposit alone: four offers. The requirement then ignores the match, so a bigger bonus does not make it heavier.
  • The deposit and the bonus together: three offers. BC.Game's 40x runs on a C$100 deposit plus a C$120 bonus, which is C$8,800 rather than the C$4,800 the bonus alone would need.

The remaining four are the two offers with no wagering and two that do not state a base at all. A base that is not published is a price that cannot be worked out, which is reason enough to skip the offer.

All three combined-base offers carry multiples that look ordinary and bills that are not. MyStake's 30x becomes C$7,500, Flush Casino opens at 30x and still reaches C$6,000, and BC.Game's 40x reaches C$8,800. Read the base before you read the number.

Casinos with no wagering requirements in Canada

No casino here is wager-free across its whole menu. Cloudbet is the closest thing to one: all eight of its offers that state a requirement state none, from the welcome package to the 10% rakeback and the tournament prizes.

Sixteen of the 31 casinos publish at least one offer with no wagering attached. The zeros cluster in two places, and the welcome offer is not one of them:

  • Cashback and rakeback: 15 of the 48 cashback offers are paid as real cash with nothing to clear.
  • Tournament and prize-drop cash: 30 of the 480 recurring offers pay prizes with no rollover.
  • Welcome offers: two, out of 27.
  • No-deposit and free-spin offers: none, out of 51.

That last line matters, because "no deposit, no wagering" is the promise people search for most. Not one of the 51 no-deposit or free-spin offers in this field is fully wager-free.

The lightest is Shuffle, whose free chips carry 1x, and the next is Sportsbet.io at 5x on spin insurance. Jack.com advertises wager-free spins, but the terms still require 1x of the first deposit plus the spin winnings before a withdrawal, and the spins need a deposit of $50 to unlock.

The lowest wagering requirements: what a C$100 deposit has to turn over

This is every welcome offer whose own terms put the betting required at C$4,000 or less on a C$100 first deposit. The figure is the stated multiple applied to the base the operator states, with the bonus sized by the advertised first-stage match.

Cloudbet

DailySpins
C$4,000 (40x the bonus)
Lucky Rollers
C$4,000 (40x the bonus)
Metaspins

Betpanda and Cryptocasino apply their multiple to the deposit rather than the bonus, so the requirement stays the same whatever the match pays. Most of the rest of the chart applies it to the bonus, which means a bigger headline match makes the requirement bigger too.

The other end of the field runs much higher. Cryptorino publishes 66x the deposit, or C$6,600. MyStake and BC.Game apply their multiples to the deposit and the bonus together, which is what pushes them to C$7,500 and C$8,800 respectively.

Five offers cannot be placed on the chart at all: Sportsbet.io and Thunderpick do not publish a figure with the offer, and BitStarz, CoinCasino and King Billy leave it to their general bonus terms, which record 40x, 60x and 30x on the bonus.

Ceilings are as each operator states them, in the currency the operator uses. A ceiling on a cashback offer is the percentage returned, not a cash cap.

How to beat wagering requirements

You cannot. The arithmetic is fixed: the requirement is a volume of betting, and every unit of that volume is exposed to the house edge. No pattern of stakes, no game choice and no timing changes the direction of it.

What you can do is pay less for the same credit, and avoid the clauses that delete the credit entirely.

Four things decide what an offer costs you, and all four are readable before you deposit:

  • The multiple and its base. The same 40x is C$4,000 against a C$100 bonus and C$8,800 when it runs on a C$120 bonus plus the C$100 deposit.
  • The game weighting. Where live casino counts at 5% and in-house games at 0%, the whole requirement has to come from the games that do count, which makes the multiple heavier than it reads. Thunderpick publishes exactly that split.
  • The maximum bet while a bonus is live. Break it once, even by accident, and the operator can void the bonus and the winnings with it.
  • The ceiling on what you can withdraw. Jack.com's wager-free spins stop at $100 of spin winnings, whatever the spins produce.

The third and fourth points do more damage than any multiple, because they turn a cleared bonus into nothing. We set out which operators use them, and in what wording, in our guide to the clauses that can void your winnings.

There is one more reason the arithmetic above is optimistic. It assumes you finish the wagering, and most players do not: the balance runs out first, which is a different loss rather than a smaller one. Betting more per spin to finish faster does not help either, because the expected cost is set by the total staked, not by the number of rounds.

The practical rule is short. Prefer a low multiple applied to the bonus rather than to the deposit and bonus together, take cashback and rakeback that pay in cash over a match you have to clear, and treat any offer that does not publish a multiple as unpriceable. An offer you cannot price is one to leave alone.

That last point is where the search term and the reality part company. There are casinos with genuinely low wagering in this field, and there are offers with none at all, but they are cashback, rakeback and tournament prizes rather than the headline welcome match. If the goal is to keep what you win, the ordinary cashback offer is a better instrument than the biggest banner on the page.

Offers and terms as each operator published them, last verified 16 September 2026. Betting required is the stated multiple applied to the base the operator states, on a C$100 first deposit, with the bonus sized by the advertised first-stage match. Expected cost is modelled at a 96.5% return to player on slots, an illustrative assumption rather than a rate any operator guarantees, and it assumes the wagering is completed in full.

This is an analysis of published terms, not financial advice. If gambling is costing you more than money, there are responsible gambling resources for Canadian players.

Frequently asked questions

What does 35x wagering mean?

It means you must bet 35 times the amount the multiple applies to before you can withdraw. At 7Bit Casino and Mirax Casino the 35x applies to the bonus, so a C$100 deposit matched at 100% gives C$100 of bonus and C$100 x 35 = C$3,500 of required betting.

Is there a wagering requirements calculator?

You only need one line of arithmetic. Betting required = the multiple x the base, where the base is the bonus, the deposit, or both added together, whichever the terms name. To see the price, multiply the answer by the house edge: C$4,000 at an illustrative 96.5% return to player costs about C$140 on an average run.

Which casinos in Canada have no wagering requirements?

None of the 31 casinos we review is wager-free across its whole menu. Cloudbet comes closest: all eight of its offers that state a requirement state none, including the welcome package and the 10% rakeback. Sixteen casinos publish at least one offer with no wagering, almost always cashback, rakeback or a tournament prize.

What is the lowest wagering requirement on a casino bonus?

Among the welcome offers, FortuneJack at 10x the bonus, Cryptocasino at 15x the first deposit and 1xCasino at 25x the bonus. Across all offer types the lowest non-zero multiple is 1x, which appears on cashback at 1xCasino and Betpanda and on Shuffle's free chips.

Are there free spins with no deposit and no wagering requirements in Canada?

Not in this field. None of the 51 no-deposit and free-spin offers is fully wager-free. The lightest is 1x on Shuffle's free chips, then 5x on Sportsbet.io's spin insurance. Jack.com advertises wager-free spins, but they need a $50 deposit and 1x of that deposit plus the winnings before a withdrawal.

How do you beat wagering requirements?

You cannot beat the arithmetic, because every dollar of required betting is exposed to the house edge. You can only pay less for the same credit: choose a low multiple applied to the bonus rather than to the deposit and bonus together, keep every stake under the maximum bet rule, and check which games count and at what rate.

Is a no wager casino bonus better than a big match?

Usually, yes, on the arithmetic. A wager-free C$20 of cashback is C$20 you can withdraw, while a C$200 match at 60x needs C$12,000 of betting, which costs more on average than the credit is worth. The size of the headline says nothing about what the offer returns.

Do all games count towards wagering requirements?

No, and that changes the real cost. Thunderpick publishes a split where slots count 100%, table games 20%, live casino 5% and its own games 0%. Where the games you play contribute little or nothing, the whole requirement has to come from the games that do count.
