The Safety Tools That Aren't There: which crypto casinos let Canadian players set real limits

Deposit limits, loss limits, cool-off and self-exclusion at 31 crypto casinos for Canadian players. Eleven offer all four, three offer none, and not one names a Canadian helpline.

Key takeaways

  • Eleven of the 31 casinos we review offer all four tools. Three publish none of them: BitStarz, Cryptorino and Shuffle

  • Eighteen let you cap deposits. Only 11 let you cap losses, and eight say they offer no loss limit at all

  • Self-exclusion exists at 28 casinos, but at eight of them you have to email or message support to get it

  • Not one of the 31 names a Canadian support service. Seven name no service at all

  • 1xCasino's loss limits are budget advice, not a control on your account

  • Two operators note that crypto deposits may fall outside their deposit limits

Every casino here takes a deposit in seconds. Setting a limit on those deposits is harder, and stopping yourself is hardest of all.

We checked the four tools that let you control your own play at all 31 casinos in our Canadian casino reviews: a deposit limit, a loss limit, a cool-off period and self-exclusion. Eleven casinos offer all four. Three offer none.

11 of 31

Offer all four tools: deposit limit, loss limit, cool-off and self-exclusion.

11 of 31

Let you set a loss limit. Eight state they do not offer one.

8 of 31

Make you email or message support to self-exclude.

0 of 31

Name a Canadian support service anywhere in their responsible gambling pages.

Loss limits are the gap

A deposit limit caps what goes in. A loss limit caps what you lose in a day, week or month. A cool-off is a short break that ends by itself. Self-exclusion is the long one, six months or more.

Eighteen casinos cap deposits. Only 11 cap losses. Eight say plainly that they offer no loss limit, and 11 publish nothing either way.

That is the wrong one to leave out. A deposit cap does not notice that you lost the lot on Monday. A loss limit acts on the outcome, which is why it is the one that goes missing.

One casino deserves naming. 1xCasino publishes loss guidance: advice to budget and not to chase losses. That is a paragraph, not a control on your account. We counted it as guidance, because a sentence telling you to be careful is not a tool.

Shuffle publishes no position on any of the four and names no support organisation. BitStarz names two organisations and stops there.

The tool you have to ask for

Self-exclusion exists at 28 of the 31, which looks like good coverage. Then you read how it works.

At eight casinos you cannot do it yourself. You email support, or open a live chat, and wait. So the moment you decide to stop, you have to ask the company that profits from you carrying on.

Betpanda

Close your account by emailing support. Custom limits are not supported at all.

Flush Casino

Exclusion of six months to five years by support request, effective within 24 hours. No deposit limit, loss limit or cool-off.

Lucky Ones

Deposit limit and self-exclusion both go through live chat. Nothing is self-serve.

Compare that with the ones built to hold. Roobet will not let you end an exclusion early. Stake requires a formal review before the account comes back. That is the point of the tool.

Nobody points you at Canadian help

This one is the same at all 31.

Twenty-four list at least one support organisation. Seven list none. Not one names a service that answers here. The lists are GamCare and GambleAware in Britain, the National Council on Problem Gambling and 1-800-GAMBLER in the United States, Gambling Help Online and Lifeline in Australia, and in two cases Austrian and German services.

31 casinos, 24 helpline lists, zero Canadian services named

It is one line of text on a page they already publish, which is what makes it telling. The numbers that do answer here are on our responsible gambling page.

Three things to do before you deposit

  1. Open the account settings and set both limits now, while the decision is cheap. If only a deposit limit exists, remember what it does not cover.
  2. If the tools are not in the account, test the support address with a small request first. A desk that ignores a limit request will ignore an exclusion request.
  3. Check how an exclusion ends. If one click lifts it, it will not hold on the night it matters.

What we counted

Thirty-one casinos, all four tools recorded as each operator publishes them, verified 4 August 2026.

Three states, and the difference matters. Not offered means the operator says there is no such tool. Not stated means nothing is published either way, so the tool may exist unmentioned and we do not assume it does not. Via support means it exists but is not in your hands.

Two limits on this. A published tool is not a tested tool: we did not open accounts to see whether an exclusion holds or whether support answers. And two operators note that crypto deposits may fall outside their deposit limits, which is a wide hole where most deposits are crypto.

Tools also say nothing about the rest of a casino. Cloudbet scores highest of the 31 with no loss limit or cool-off stated, and Katsubet sits near the bottom with all four. Our scoring weighs licensing, complaints and payouts too, and the method is set out in how we score. If limits are what matter to you, read the table rather than the score. For the rest of the picture, we have looked at what these licences are actually worth and which casinos actually pay out.

If gambling has stopped being a choice, the help that answers in this country is on our responsible gambling page. This is an analysis of published documents, not medical, legal or financial advice.

Frequently asked questions

Which crypto casinos let me set a loss limit?

Eleven: BC.GAME, DailySpins, Katsubet, King Billy Casino, Metaspins, Mirax Casino, Roobet, SkyCrown, Stake, Wild.io and Wolf.io. Eight say they offer none, and the rest publish nothing either way.

Is self-exclusion here the same as a provincial self-exclusion programme?

No. Every casino in this set operates offshore, so provincial programmes do not cover them. Excluding yourself at one does nothing at the other 30, and there is no shared register. You have to repeat it at each casino.

What if a casino offers no deposit limit?

Set the limit where the casino cannot reach it, in a separate wallet or account holding only what you mean to play with. Six of the 31 say they offer no deposit limit, and seven more publish nothing either way.

Does self-exclusion by email actually work?

We recorded what operators publish rather than testing it, so we cannot say. What we can say is that eight casinos put a person in the way, with stated waits of 12 to 24 hours. Where the tool sits in the account, it is immediate.

Do any of them list a Canadian helpline?

None. The 24 lists that exist are British, American, Australian, Austrian or German. The numbers that answer here are on our responsible gambling page.

What is a cool-off, and how is it different from self-exclusion?

A cool-off is a short break, usually 24 hours to a few months, and the account reopens by itself. Self-exclusion runs six months to five years or longer, and coming back normally needs a request or a review. Nineteen offer a cool-off and five say they do not.
